Hi I’m Alta and I’m the mama to Savannah who is 11 and Jack who is 6. My husband and I have been together for 10 years. Jim has owned an electrical business in the valley for about 15 years. He was raised in Glenwood and I was raised in Carbondale. Together we feel like we know the whole Roaring Fork Valley. I love and am grateful that I have a loving and supportive family and friends close by to share all the wonderful events in our lives. Jim and I love exploring this beautiful place we live. One of our favorite things to do is jump in the truck and take a drive and hike around exploring new places in the valley. I also enjoy cooking, crafting and being outside. Camping with friends and family is something I love and always feel I never do enough of.
I have my skin care and nail license. I am a makeup artist part time. I’m slowly building my makeup business. Some like to paint on paper I like to paint peoples faces. I love what I do. Being busy meeting new people and enjoying life.
Savannah will be in the Glenwood middle school next year. She loves horses and is a huge Nancy Drew fan. She is also a little fashionsta who is not afraid to be a trendsetter. Jack is a great Lego builder whose life plan includes becoming a Lego creator. Jack has a disorder called Aspergers. Aspergers is a mild form of Autism. The hardest thing is Jack is social skills. Making friend and interacting with others is very hard for him. As, a family we are learning so much about this disorder and how it affects Jack. When Jim and I were having lots of problems with Jack, in school and home Jim and I were at a total loss on what to do. I turned to moms for moms communities for advice and support. What I got was a community of loving caring people in this valley giving me words of wisdom and advice. I was over whelmed at the response I got. I felt like this community of moms in my town truly cared and wanted to help. I knew I had to be a part of this great site. So, when the opportunity came about I jumped on it! I’m so excited to now be an owner of Glenwood moms for moms.
