“I wish there had been an easier way to have connected with other mums straight away. How great to finally have a tool that allows mums to connect and share information before even going out.”

Life has thrown many curve balls, creating both exciting times and some pretty isolating times as well. I moved to Australia in 1999 from Seattle, Washington after having met my husband in the UK at a Rowing Regatta of all places! I can still remember that first year spent with a 2 year old and another on the way, having just moved to Geelong, not knowing a sole even though my husband had grown up here. 6 years later and I can now say I feel like a local but it didn’t come easy. It took years of networking with other mums through playgroups, kinder, school, and business. I wish now there had been an easier way to have connected with other mums straight away. I learned so much about where to access certain services available to kids, mums and families but it was through connecting with other mums. How great to finally have a tool that allows mums to connect straight away and share information before even going out to meet other mums.

My husband and I have three kids aged 2 , 6 and 8 and feel very privileged to finally having landed in Geelong. We have both become involved in our community throughout or years in Geelong, sitting on various committees in our sporting clubs, playgroup as well as belonging to local business networking groups. Both of us agree that Geelong is a great place to raise a family and we feel very privileged to live here. In fact I have become very passionate about Geelong( as many of my friends will know from my Facebook posts!); a passion born from the connections that I made with others which I can honestly say have allowed me to build strong, supportive, and nurturing relationships for life!
